FIRST FRIDAY FILM - Friday, June 5th, 2009 - "Juno"
Friday June 5th @ 7pm at The Luminary Center for the Arts in the Tower Grove neighborhood, Midrash will be showing the film "Juno".
First Friday Film Night: June 5th, @ 7pm in the basement of The Luminary Center for the Arts. This month: JUNO. Every now and then, a film comes along that captures the essence of a generation, truly art imitating life. Dealing with issues of teenage pregnancy and the resulting abortion/adoption struggle, these are the things people are really dealing with, right now. The brilliance of this film is it's ability to combine the hard hitting reality with relatable characters, witty dialogue, and a well placed soundtrack. Starring such familiar faces as Jason Bateman, Jennifer Gardner, Michael Cera, and Ellen Page. Like controversy? This film was cited during public outcry when 17 girls under the age of 16 got pregnant in Massachusetts in 2008, as wells as prompting headlines like "Juno in Juneau" following the pregnancy of 08' VP candidate Sarah Palin's teenage daughter. Join us to watch a great movie and have an even better conversation.

Open to absolutely everyone. June 17th at 7 pm at Schlafly Bottleworks.
